Greetings YEI members!
Welcome to another great edition of the You’ve Earned It/YEI newsletter. Only 35 weeks till Christmas! Time is flying so let’s enjoy the moment!
Let’s dive into this issue’s highlights
- The legal experts, and YEI’s partners, take us through the option of investing in life rights and why this deserves careful consideration. The issue of where to live and how to ensure a secure future causes sleepless nights in the lives of 60-plussers. Why 60-plussers should consider life rights – a recommended read!
- If you are a 60-plusser with a zest for new experiences and beautiful sights, you’re going to LOVE what Hola Tourism Network has in store for you! Whet your appetite while you read 60-plussers – are you up for an adventure?
- Providing life insurance for your employees is an opportunity that all forward-thinking senior entrepreneurs need to consider. If you run your own business – small or big, we highly recommend a read of this article Senior entrepreneurs – why uninsured employees are bad for business
- Other articles include YEI’s ever-popular regular column on Pensioner Deals and Discounts and a great new exclusive discount on all Maxidor Ultra products brought to you by Momentum.
- YEI’s #supportpensioners in the last YEI issue went down extremely well, with many 60-plussers signing up on this page, wanting to join the fabulous entrepreneurial pensioner crowd who are putting their skills, knowledge and expertise to great use!
YEI loves great feedback!
Peter from Hermanus had this to say:
A very good evening to you. Greetings from Hermanus. I went through to the Waterfront and to the Information Desk. I was greeted by Norma who advised that the Waterfront Marketing Team and YEI had been in a meeting a couple of days prior. I would like to compliment you on good service. We often complain much too easily. Now I am in a situation where we can give some praise to good service. This should be recognised. Thank you for your time and support – you are very much appreciated!
Thank you Peter – from the YEI Team

YEI Guide to the South African 60-plus consumer
Don’t forget to have a read of the fascinating YEI Guide to the SA 60-plus consumer. It makes for very interesting reading with results emanating from YEI members who responded to the YEI Survey Series last year. Since then, we keep talking about how important SA 60-plussers are, and slowly marketers are starting to take note. Do share this document far and wide!

A request from the YEI Editor
I know I’m harping on about this topic. But harp I will continue.. !!
Engagement, engagement, engagement
As you know, YEI is a media platform, valued by many clients and YEI members. With a large reach to 60-plussers nationwide, YEI has become a most relevant audience for clients who wish to reach a senior audience. However, YEI needs regular engagement from its members – this is the ticket to YEI’s sustainability.
We ask that you regularly engage with posts on the YEI website, newsletter, and Facebook page. Please comment, enquire, book, recommend, like, love, share with your friends and family – on all the articles, services, products and offers that YEI clients offer you.
One of the challenges that YEI faces is the Facebook algorithms which only allow a very small proportion of our YEI members to see the content.
So please, please – make it your mission to engage when you see the YEI newsletter or see a Facebook post. This will support YEI hugely and it takes a moment of your time, it doesn’t cost you anything and it’s quick and simple. Just one like or love or comment makes a huge difference to YEI. Tag your friends on posts that you think they may enjoy or will interest them. We know you love it, because you tell us – but you need to show you love it or like it!
Thank you all for your support over the years. And remember, comment, share, tag, like, love

Jonathan Ball Publishers announces audiobook offerings
Jonathan Ball Publishers is excited to announce its audiobook offerings to a growing audience of listeners as well as any curious readers looking for alternative ways to consume books. A little over a year ago, we took the bold step of creating and distributing audiobooks from our existing print books and a selection of newer titles. It has been a journey of discovery: partnering with sound engineers, finding appropriate voice artists, and working out how to distribute an audiobook. There are multiple moving parts but when it all comes together, the result is a beautifully read book that captures the imagination in a way that is unique to audio. We aim to make an audiobook available at the same time as the printed book is launched. This is so readers can have their pick of print, ebook or audiobook. Our audiobooks are available across all platforms globally – Audible, Apple, Google Drive, Kobo – you name it, you’ll find our audiobooks there. They can also be found in numerous libraries that now lend out digital audiobooks. Our latest audiobook is Bullshit: 50 Fibs that Made South Africa by Jonathan Ancer, narrated by award-winning journalist Rebecca Davis. In our growing stable of audiobooks, readers can find Children of Sugarcane by Joanne Joseph and beautifully read by Roshina Ratnam; Risking Life for Death by Ryan Blumenthal read by Colin Moss, Breaking the Bombers by Mark Shaw and read by well-known Cape Town actor Adrian Galley. At Jonathan Ball, we welcome you to listen to our stories.

That’s all for now, folks!
Keep well, keep happy! Until the next time…
Sending good wishes to you all

Kind regards,
