While reading about your wonderful pensioner travel opportunities is great, many of us are not that financially fluid to do anything but window shopping. It would really help us to see more pensioner discount deals in food, clothing and medicine. Let’s please hear which of the supermarkets has pensioner discounts deals on what days, which clothing stores stock ranges that don’t just cater to teenagers (although some of us still look and feel that way) and also have discounts for pensioners, and especially if there are any medical chains, dentists and optometrists that also help those who do not have comprehensive medical aid. It might also be an idea for YEI to approach Multichoice to see if they can make entertainment more affordable for the older age group. And please, we are scattered all over the country, so more deals in other provinces than the Western Cape would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your thoughts. All of the areas you mention are on YEI’s radar, and the YEI Team constantly approach retailers to request their support for pensioners. YEI has already had meetings with the MultiChoice CEO – we even took a 17 page petition from pensioners with us. Unfortunately to no avail, to date. The travel opportunities that YEI present to our senior readership are actually incredibly popular. And YEI certainly does endeavour to secure pensioner deals all over the country, not just the Western Cape.
