Africam is a trailblazer in their field who provides its viewers the unique opportunity of experiencing the African Bush from the comforts of their home. What started as a single Live Webcam capturing a 30-second refresh image, has expanded to show a sharper, more engaging visual enabling its viewers to experience Live, high definition observations of wildlife in their natural habitat. In addition, our cameras are set-up in strategic positions to help promote ecotourism and conservation.
Our ability to share Live Streaming 24/7, is made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers or “Zoomies”. These members of our team are able to track wildlife in real time using our online camera operations. Due to the nature of our business, we are fortunate to have volunteers from all over the world.
Becoming an Africam Zoomie requires:
● A love for wildlife (Species knowledge advantageous)
● Technological proficiency
● Access to a Computer (Windows ONLY, MAC not supported), an additional Monitor and good internet connection.
All training is done virtually and can take up to 3-4 weeks depending on frequency of sessions and capability. Once you are officially a Zoomie, we provide full access to Africam Premium and its community as a token of our appreciation.
