It is a year since our world turned upside down
A year since we all in South Africa,
went into a severe lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And what a year it has been. It changed our lives forever.
We should be having a“national day of reflection” to mark the first anniversary of South Africa going into lockdown, and a minute’s silence in remembrance of the 52,535* South Africans who have died during the coronavirus pandemic.
We have all learned a lot of lessons, and for me:
- Family comes first, family is everything
- Life is a complete blessing. Don’t take anything for granted.
- Let’s be as generous as we can. A little can mean a lot in someone else’s life.
- Be kind to everyone – we don’t know what is going on with the person next to us.
We know the vaccine is rolling out impossibly slowly in South Africa,
but hopefully this will speed up, and bring some light to our horizon.
How are you faring?
Has the pandemic affected your life’s plans?
Have you been able to see your family, or not?
Has your world changed?
Are your priorities different?
We look forward to hearing from you in the comments section below.
