How Well Do You Hear? We Want to Know
Hearing and Your Health
Take the Survey
The survey covers how hearing affects your everyday situations, what you already know about the link between hearing and other health concerns, and how you’d feel about wearing a modern hearing aid if you ever needed one. The last question leaves space for anything you’d like to add in your own words, and we read every response.

What is You’ve Earned It’s Hearing & Quality of Life Survey?
A short, anonymous survey for South Africans over 55, exploring how hearing affects everyday life: conversations, relationships, confidence and independence. It takes about five minutes.
Why does hearing loss matter beyond the ability to hear?
Hearing loss is linked to social isolation, depression, higher fall risk and a greater risk of dementia. It’s one of 14 modifiable dementia risk factors identified by researchers.
How long do people typically wait before addressing hearing loss?
On average, seven years pass between someone first suspecting a hearing problem and seeking evaluation or treatment.
Who is running the survey?
You’ve Earned It (YEI), South Africa’s digital platform for the 55-plus community, in partnership with hearing care provider hear.com.
