Don’t forget the Swellendam Winter School
only on until the end of August 2019

An extraordinary and unprecedented cooperation between all community members brought to life The Swellendam Winter School, an initiative dreamed up by resident John Paisley.  Taking place from June to the end of August 2019, the whole of Swellendam is becoming a ‘school’: the kind of school you could only dream of when you were a child.  A school for those people who never want to stop learning, and who enjoy new experiences, making new friends and discovering new places. The Winter School has  over 40 courses.  Click here to read more…

I do not use Facebook and have no desire to sign on again. Originally My granddaughters signed me in when they went on their overseas trips in order to send photos and messages but subsequently I had so much rubbish from all and sundry that I cancelled my Facebook subscription. Now I see that if I want to read articles in YE! I must sign in again. Sorry chum but no ways! I’ll just have to do without.

      Dear Ewan

Thank you for your comments. As you may know, the YEI newsletters are sent to YEI subscribers at no cost on a fortnightly basis. In between newsletters, we have information, stories, news, views, all sorts of things that we share with YEI readers, and the YEI Facebook page is perfect for this. All we are doing is advising our YEI newsletter subscribers that there are further articles, news, stories etc on the YEI Facebook page which they may find interesting. We are not asking you to sign up on the YEI Facebook page, but if you are already a Facebook subscriber, this might well be of interest. So you do not need to sign up to Facebook again if that is your choice, in order to read the articles in the YEI newsletter.

      Kind regards
      Marilyn, YEI

    Good Morning,
Thank you for the newsletter. At the top of the email it says ” A warm winter welcome to pensioners | Gifts for Fathers/Grandfathers | Bertha’s competition | Insurance challenges in retirement | Death of a loved one – what to do”

I cannot find anything in the newsletter that refers to Death of a loved one – what to do. Please can you send me the link to the article or a copy of the article as It is information that we will need at some point.

    Many thanks
    V.C. King

Our apologies. This particular article has been bumped to the next YEI newsletter. The title should have been taken off the newsletter, but was inadvertently left in. The article will be included in the 26 June issue, but can be seen at https://youve-earned-it.co.za/lifestyle/death-loved-one-what-to-do/

      Sorry about that!

      Kind regards
      YEI
