The tour takes passengers right into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, with a narration focusing on the history of Franschhoek and wine cultivation in the valley and unparalleled views of the valley and vineyards. In addition to the hop-on hop-off tour, a curated wine experience is also available to passengers who wish to spend more time to learn more about local grape varieties, cultivars and aspects of viticulture. The curated tour includes a lunch, wine tastings and a wine pairing.
Over the years Babylonstoren has become a favourite destination to explore amongst locals and tourists. Their garden is at the heart of the Babylonstoren farm and draws inspiration from the Company Gardens of the Cape as well as the mythical garden of Babylon. Extending over eight acres, the garden is formal in structure and is home to more than 300 varieties of plants which are edible and grown as biologically as possible. The fruit and vegetables harvested in the garden throughout the year are used in the farm’s restaurant. The garden is divided into fifteen clusters spanning vegetable areas, berries, bees, indigenous plants, ducks and chickens and includes a prickly pear maze.
