CanSurvive Cancer Support provides support for all cancer patients and caregivers at various levels

About CanSurvive Cancer Support

Started in October 2009, our groups provide support for all cancer patients and caregivers at various levels.

The support groups are held in caring and confidential environments in which patients can share their experiences and concerns, and obtain support and useful information from others who have been through the same experiences. We have a special group for head and neck cancers.

Meetings usually consist of a talk or presentation by an invited speaker, followed by a general discussion or a share and care session.

Cancer buddy support system

We also offer the buddy support system where cancer patients can interact with and receive advice and support from cancer survivors who often have a similar profile, disease and treatment protocol. Our buddies do not provide medical support – this is the role of
your doctor, specialist or clinic.

We do provide someone to talk to; to discuss your concerns and answer the questions you may have; to assist you in finding your own way forward; to point you to other services which may be available. Buddy support can be provided via telephone, by one-on-one meetings, or even via email, depending on your needs.
