Jonathan Roxmouth is taking the spotlight in MY FAVOURITE BROADWAY – a celebration of his personal selection of showstopping hits from some of the world’s most beloved Broadway musicals.
Accompanied by the newly-formed 32-piece Egoli Symphonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Adam Howard, this show not only marks a triumphant homecoming for Jonathan Roxmouth, it also brings new depth to classic show tunes and beloved musical theatre hits in a performance that promises elegance, emotion, and unforgettable moments. Having last performed at Montecasino in Key Change Jonathan Roxmouth will be back at the piano to perform a special surprise with the orchestra. The audience can expect a powerful, moving experience — one that will linger in memory long after the final bow fades.
2025 marks a significant homecoming for Jonathan Roxmouth. This celebrated performer will not only captivate musical theatre fans with his MY FAVOURITE BROADWAY concert performances; he also returns to musical theatre where he reprises the role of Billy Flynn in CHICAGO – The Musical, opening at Artscape on 27 August for a limited season thereafter on stage at Montecasino’s Teatro from 03 October to 09 November. Jonathan Roxmouth previously portrayed Billy Flynn during the New Zealand and China legs of the 2018/19 CHICAGO World Tour. South African audiences last saw him on stage in 2017 as Che in Evita.
In 2006 Jonathan Roxmouth made his local musical theatre debut in Grease. Followed by performances in shows such as Rock Me Amadeus and A Handful of Keys he played leading roles in musicals including Beauty and the Beast, Jesus Christ Superstar and Sweeney Todd. It was the donning of the Phantom mask in Phantom of The Opera that firmly entrenched Jonathan in audience hearts locally forever and catapulted him onto global stages.
Acclaimed for his versatility on stage, Jonathan Roxmouth has starred in theatrical productions such as Perfect Nonsense and The Mystery of Irma Vep. His original creations include Great Balls of Fire and Call Me Lee!. As a concert performer, he has headlined his own acclaimed shows such as Swingle Bells! and Phantasm. Jonathan Roxmouth’s powerful voice, commanding presence and acting talents have been captivating audiences across the globe ever since.
