Be kind to your heart – September is National Heart Awareness Month

By September 1, 2016May 11th, 2018No Comments

High blood pressure is one of the leading causes for heart attacks and stroke

You should have your cholesterol levels checked annually from the age of 35, but from as early as 20 if you smoke, have diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure or are obese.   Also, remember to lower your salt intake, as a high salt diet is a key driver for high blood pressure.

Clicks, through the Clicks Helping Hand Trust, will be offering free blood pressure tests and cholesterol screenings for anyone without Medical Aid at any Clicks Clinic nationwide during the month of September, as well as advice on your numbers to help you stay healthy.   These tests are available Monday to Friday from 1pm – 5pm by appointment only.

With over 190 Clicks clinics countrywide, Clicks Nursing Sisters provide a wide range of wellness consultations.
