YEI News:

Spring brings good news for YEI members, free wills, SASSA News,
and more….

Editor's desk

Greetings YEI subscribers – current and new!

Spring brings good news!

With the onset of spring in South Africa, the good news from the You’ve Earned It front is that it has been a bumper month for seniors.   A big backpat and kudos go to the corporates/businesses of South Africa, some of whom who are offering improved senior deals and others who are reaching out to the senior market for the first time!  YEI suggests that you keep an eye on the YEI website, the newsletter and the YEI Facebook page, all of which will be showcasing all of these wonderful new and existing offers for seniors in due course.

National Wills Week

National Wills Week is from 17 to 21 September 2018.  Many attorneys offer to draft free wills during National Wills Week.  The good news for YEI members is that you don’t necessarily have to wait for National Wills Week.  With Proactive Wills and Estates, a business featured in the YEI Directory, you can get a will drawn up for free, any day, any week, any month.   Now that’s good news!

YEI in Woman and Home

Nice exposure for You’ve Earned It in the October 2018 issue of Woman and Home.  The YEI Editor is featured in an article titled Ringing in the changes at every decade.  An interesting article about “Nine-enders” – the term coined for people who often make life changes prior to going into a new decade of their life – on or around milestone birthdays.  Makes for fascinating reading!

Have you made changes ahead of a new decade?  Tell us about it….

Nice comment

YEI receives a lot of feedback, but we received a particularly nice email from a new YEI subscriber,
which was well received by the YEI team!

Thank you, Frieda!

Dear Editor

Thanks for my first newsletter ‘subscription.’
I have not read everything but I’m VERY impressed.
Congratulations – it’s beautiful, fresh, friendly, topical and professional

Interesting snippets of information

Struggling to fall asleep?  An old military technique may help you nod off in two minutes. The American military service apparently had a 96% success rate after six weeks of practice with people reportedly falling asleep in two minutes or less.  You first need to relax which should take about a minute or two.  Relax the muscles in your face.  Drop your shoulders as low as they’ll go, followed by your upper and lower arm on one side, and then the other. Breathe out and relax your chest. Then relax your legs (thighs first then calves).  Then take about 10-20 seconds to declutter and clear your mind.  Tell yourself “don’t think, don’t think and visualise yourself lying in a canoe on a calm lake with nothing but a clear blue sky above you, and then lying in a black velvet hammock in a pitch-black room.  According to the study, you should start drifting off to sleep.  Try it, and let us know if it works.  We will be trying just that tonight!

Chuckle of the month

Seniors - recycle bin

Until next month…

Kind regards,
