The Cape Town Concert Series presents Alexey Stadler, one of the finest young cellists of his generation.
The 26 year old Russian has performed across Europe as a soloist as well as in chamber ensembles with artists including Cape Town favourite Lukas Vondracek. For Stadler’s first recital in Cape Town he will team up with leading South African pianist François du Toit for a programme of Schumann, Brahms, Sibelius and Prokofiev.
Christopher Park – piano with Amalia Hall – violin – 28 October, 20h00
The Cape Town Concert Series presents pianist Christopher Park with special guest violinist Amalia Hall. Park was described as a pianist “who captivates with his fascinating technical mastery, astounding musical maturity, and a particularly intense performance style” – this was the explanation given by the jury by the Stiftung Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival upon awarding Christopher Park the coveted Leonard Bernstein Award 2014. He will be performing works from his new solo cd of Schumann and Stravinksy, and an added highlight will be the inclusion of violinist Amalia Hall (concert master of Orchestra Wellington) who happens to be visiting Cape Town this October. They are preparing a new recording project together and will perform an exclusive ‘sneak preview’ at the concert.
