Blyde Canyon’s exclusive Guest House opens after renovations
Blyde Canyon, A Forever Resort is known for its astonishing views and the canyon itself is known internationally as the third largest canyon in the world. A mere 160 kilometres away from Nelspruit (Mbombela) and 50 kilometres from Graskop, this picturesque Forever property can be found.
Recently Blyde Canyon launched a twelve sleeper luxury Guest House which is perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Blyde River Canyon and the well-known Three Rondavels.
“The well-appointed house has a spacious lounge leading onto a patio and braai area with the most breath-taking views. There is a full kitchen leading into a beautiful dining room which comfortably seats twelve guests. There are six bedrooms: four double rooms each fitted with a King size bed and its own On-Suite Bathroom (with a bath and shower). The fifth bedroom also has a King size bed but shares a Bathroom (bath and shower) with the sixth bedroom (with a quaint double bunk) which is ideal for children”, said Francois Scholtz, General Manager of Blyde Canyon, A Forever Resort.
“This recently renovated property is ideal for family gatherings or groups of senior friends”, Scholtz added.
Loskopdam launches luxurious chalets, a family must!
Loskopdam, A Forever Resort lies on the banks of the Olifants River, 48 kilometres North of Middelburg, 230 kilometres East of Johannesburg. This family friendly favourite is surrounded by the Waterberg Mountain Range and Loskop Dam Nature Reserve which is home to Antelope, Leopard, Crocodile and Hippo.
Loskopdam recently launched their new luxurious chalets which have three bedrooms; the first two bedrooms consist of double beds and the third bedroom of four single beds. Eight persons can be accommodated per chalet.
“The building process originally started in May 2017 and took approximately 10 months to complete. Originally we had only planned to build four houses but decided to build another one totalling five houses after one of our log cabins required replacement”, said Monica van der Linde, General Resort Manager at Loskopdam, A Forever Resort.
“The building of these houses was done by a private building contractor, CA Construction and the tiling and fitting of carpets were done by Carpet & Tile Market. All of the electrical, plumbing and other work was done by Forever Maintenance Staff, most of the furniture was manufactured by Okey Dokey in Colsberg and the curtaining and softs was done by Macy’s and Fiyas from Ermelo. The houses are spacious with 144sq meters and a veranda of 22,5sq meters. Each bedroom has an en Suite Bathroom making this not only ideal for family and friends to breakaway but also for conference delegates”, van der Linde added.
“We are truly proud of our end product here, as Forever Resorts we cater to a large audience but have never forgotten about families, families build their forever memories with us over many generations. With the launch of these new houses at Loskopdam we are sure that many more memories will be made”, said Heidi Halgryn, Marketing Executive for Forever Resorts South Africa.
Swadini steps up the competitive edge
In June 2017 Swadini, A Forever Resort refurbished twenty, six sleeper chalets and starting in May this year they plan to refurbish a further fourteen chalets. “We aim to conclude the refurbishments by August 2018. We are striping these chalets to their bones so that all we are left with is a shell. Everything inside these chalets will be renovated from the tiles to the kitchens including the décor. However the layout in the bathroom will be the only layout change within these chalets as the bathroom will become more open plan. This project is special to us as all of the refurbishment will be done in-house and using the skills of the local community”, said Nols van der Berg, General Manager for Swadini, A Forever Resort.
“The aim of this extensive refurbishment is to improve our product offering at prices that are affordable to our customers, we are known for our quality within the market and want to maintain this edge”, van der Berg added.
“This is an exciting chapter for Swadini this year as their recently refurbished chalets look wonderful, it is inviting and comfortable, ideal for a breakaway all year round”, said Heidi Halgryn, Marketing Executive for Forever Resorts South Africa.
