Hugh Hefner, the founder of the international adult magazine Playboy, died peacefully in his home at the age of 91.
Playboy was started by Hefner when he published it from his home kitchen in 1953. It is reported that Hefner founded the magazine with $600 and another $1,000 borrowed from his mother. The first centerfold, an iconic feature of the monthly magazine, was of Marilyn Monroe.
Playboy became the largest-selling men’s magazine in the world, selling seven million copies a month, when it was at its peak.
